In this section we expose what Portugal left to the world with his project of Discoveries.
One of the biggest contributos what Portugal gave to the World was his discovery. For heights of the séc. xv, Europe was knowing only his continent itself, north of Africa, middle-orient, some informations on the extreme-orient and north of the Atlantic one and the Gronelândia. From the séc. xv, Portugal began the exploration of the Atlantic Ocean. From the celebrated passage of the " dark sea " - the end Bojador, in Africa, even to the first turn to the world promoted by Fernão de Magalhães, the Portugueses they went through all the seas and oceans, showing to the world his form.
The Portuguese language, with more than 215 million native speakers, is the fifth language most spoken in the world and the third one most spoken in the western world. Official language of Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Prince and East Timor, being spoken in ancient Portuguese India (Goa, Damão, Diu and Dadrá and Nagar-Aveli), Macao and Equatorial Guinea, besides having also official statute in the European Union, in the Mercosur and in the African Union.
When of his sea expansion, one of the motivations of the Portugueses, was touring the world of form to spread his religion - The Christianity. While discovering, colonizing, conquering and marketing with different places and people, the Portugueses tried cristianizate these people, having in some cases when his official religion, like Brazil or Angola was made, coming doing it even in China and Japan.

Besides the implementation of the Portuguese language
in many territories along the times, the places where the Portuguese
did not become official language, it had also linguistic influence
in so far as we had adopted much for the Portugueses they kept and
started to make part of the native languages. - Mandarim - Mandarin - name of personalities / names of language (China) - When the Portuguese officials reached China they realized that the governativ officials had great power to be in charge. They gave they then the name mandarins (in portuguese order man) - Cameroon - name of country (Camarões) - Lagos - name of city (Nigéria) - Kompra =compra(pt) buy /object or action of buy (Japan) - Anjo =Anjo (pt) Angel / divine being (Japan) - Koreijo = Colégio (pt) School /school (Japan) - Arigato = obrigado (pt) / "thank you" (Japan) - (...)
One of the food habits most made famous by the Portugueses was to celebrated " Tea Time". When the princess Catarina de Bragança (Catherine) went for England to get married with Charles II, in 1661, it took with her the tradition of the tea, which had been acquired by the Portugueses in the period of power in India.
